Dr. Kelsey Johnson
Dr. Kelsey Johnson began her career in veterinary medicine by bandaging stuffed animals’ limbs with dishtowels at the age of 5. She grew up in Denver, Colorado as an avid equestrian, competing in hunter-jumper, dressage, and finally eventing up to Intermediate level. Although veterinary medicine was forever the clear choice for her career path, directing her to an undergraduate degree in molecular biology and biochemistry, a permanent affection for books and languages led her to an undergraduate degree in English (particularly Renaissance) literature along the way.
Dr. Johnson graduated from Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. The following year, she completed a rotating small animal internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Wheat Ridge, CO. She then discovered, through a specialty internship in diagnostic imaging at VICSD in San Diego, CA, that radiology was her specialty destination. Dr. Johnson undertook her residency training from 2016-2019 at Tufts, returning to her Massachusetts roots from vet school. She is board-certified in diagnostic imaging by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR).
Dr. Johnson’s professional interests include cross-sectional imaging, particularly MRI and neuroimaging; as well as endourinary and endovascular interventional procedures. In her free time, she enjoys playing outdoors, on land and in water; traveling; and utterly spoiling her husband Kevin, her dog Sam, and her cat Marlowe
