A bit about Dr. O'Toole
Dr. Chelsea O'Toole's first career after college was as an aquarium biologist, where she predominantly cared for elasmobranchs (sharks and rays). Her interest in their medical care evolved into becoming a veterinary assistant, and then a veterinary technician. During this time, she worked for zoos/aquariums, as well as a small animal specialty hospital (similar to Summit). Her love for veterinary medicine kept growing, and she ultimately decided to apply to veterinary school. The rest is history!

Dr. O'Toole has always had a love of black and white photography. Anatomy was one of her favorite subjects in veterinary school. Given that diagnostic imaging is largely a combination of two of her favorite things, it did not take long for her to be drawn to Radiology.

Even though she predominantly works with dogs and cats now, she still has a deep love of zoo/aquatic animal medicine. She loves that Summit collaborates with regional zoos and aquariums, which allows her to combine her love for diagnostic imaging with a wide variety of different species.

Dr. O'Toole was drawn to the PNW for the abundance of nature (both land and sea) and to be closer to family. She loves collaborating with other specialists on challenging cases at Summit and being able to offer advanced veterinary care for pets and their families.
