Dr. Milan Milovancev

​Dr. Milan Milovancev earned his DVM from the University of Minnesota in 2003 and began working towards becoming a board-certified surgeon by completing a one-year rotating internship, followed by a one-year surgical internship, both at the Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Norwalk, CT. He then matched to a three-year surgical residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and became a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2009.

He worked in private referral practice for two years, followed by a year-long clinical instructorship in Soft Tissue and Surgical Oncology at North Carolina State University. He then accepted a tenure-track faculty position at Oregon State University from 2011 - 2021, during which time he earned tenure, served as section head of Small Animal Surgery, and focused his clinical and research efforts in the areas of surgical oncology and minimally invasive surgery. He has published many peer-reviewed scientific articles (available here), book chapters, review articles, and taught lectures and laboratories nationally and internationally.

Dr. Milovancev is excited to be a part of the Summit team since 2021, where a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care is integral to the mission of improving patient quality of life through expertly delivered surgical care. Outside of work, Dr. Milovancev enjoys exploring the outdoors with his family, including their fur-babies, through hiking, backpacking, cycling, fishing, and various watersports.
