A bit about Dr. Finnerty

Dr. Kate Finnerty has had a passion for animals from an early age. Growing up here in the Puget Sound, Dr. Finnerty always identified herself as wanting to be a veterinarian, so it was no surprise when she enrolled at the University of Washington for her Bachelor's Degree and then moved to Washington State University to receive her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

During her internship at Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson she developed a passion for neurology and subsequently completed a neurology specialty internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Finnerty completed her residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Wisconsin in 2013 and is excited to return to the Northwest. She is board certified in small animal neurology and neurosurgery through the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM).

In her free time, Dr. Finnerty enjoys golf, skiing, and gardening. When she is not doing those activities, she spends time with her sassy German Shepherd, Sarge, her two Golden Retrievers Riley and Poppy, and her flock of five chickens.
