Oncology
The oncology department focuses on diagnosis, treatment, and supporting patients with cancer. We provide compassionate, personalized care for you and your pet through their entire journey, and we share your family’s commitment to your pet’s quality of life.
About our department:
In your initial consultation, our goal is to provide you with detailed information about your pet’s condition (to the extent that previous test results allow), recommendations and rationale for any additional diagnostics, and to explore a spectrum of options. From that foundation, we work with you to create the specific plan that is the best fit for you and your pet.
Treatment options for cancer include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and a wide spectrum of supportive care options.
Availability and referrals:
Summit’s veterinary oncology department sees patients 5 days per week and is available for direct referral of sick patients for consultation. Pets experiencing truly emergent symptoms are admitted through our ER with in-house oncologist support as indicated.
