April brings over 25 years of hands-on veterinary experience, including over a decade in leadership and operations within specialty and emergency medicine. Her strong clinical foundation and practical expertise are valued by the referral community, where she’s known for providing high-quality training, outreach, and lectures to strengthen collaborative care and veterinary wellness.

April was honored with the 2025 Ethos Transformational Leadership Award for her commitment to positive, values-driven change and was a VECCS Practice Manager of the Year nominee. She is dedicated to fostering a hospital culture where exceptional patient care, staff well-being, and trusted partnerships thrive together.

Having worked in general practice herself, April understands the nuances and care it takes to support primary care veterinarians when they trust Summit with their patients and families. She knows how important it is to make the referral process smooth, collaborative, and reassuring for everyone involved.

Outside of work, April is passionate about horses, independent filmmaking and naps. She jokes that she should charge admission to her home, given the menagerie of pets and horses she shares with her partner, Ann.
