Jennifer Weh
Dr. Jennifer Weh’s passion for animal care began early while growing up in Michigan rehabilitating wildlife and caring for stray cats. Before pursuing veterinary medicine, she earned a degree in English from Harvard-Radcliffe College and worked in book publishing in New York City before ultimately following her calling to become a veterinarian.
While attending veterinary school at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Weh was drawn to the collaborative environment of multi-specialty medicine. Following graduation, she completed a rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania before returning to Boston for a surgical residency through Tufts University and Angell Animal Medical Center. Since 2010, Dr. Weh has practiced in the South Sound region and has developed strong connections throughout the greater Puget Sound veterinary community.
As a surgeon, Dr. Weh enjoys combining her passion for connecting with people and pets with her love of problem solving and hands-on medicine. She considers herself a true general surgeon with interests spanning soft tissue, orthopedic, and oncologic surgery. She particularly enjoys the creativity involved in developing patient-centered treatment plans while striving for excellent surgical outcomes. For Dr. Weh, one of the most rewarding aspects of veterinary medicine is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients, patients, and colleagues. She values collaboration, communication, and creating individualized solutions that improve quality of life for both pets and their families. She believes that strong teams and supportive hospital cultures ultimately lead to better patient care.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Weh enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors with her family. Whether boating in the Puget Sound, running, lifting weights, chasing after young children, or exploring the outdoors, she feels most at home surrounded by nature.
