A bit about Dr. Jones
Dr. Jones grew up on nearby Vancouver Island, Canada on acreage. With a strong passion for helping animals and people she started her educational journey by completing a Bachelor of Science from the University of Victoria. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. From there she joined a small animal practice in Prince George, British Columbia for one year.

Her passion for anesthesia and pain management called her back to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine for a 3-year residency in Anesthesia and Analgesia, where she also completed a Masters of Veterinary Science. Her specialty in anesthesia has taken her from the prairies and frigid winters to the scalding hot desserts and cases with patients from hamsters to grizzly bears. She loves that anesthesia and analgesia allows you to combine knowledge of physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology among other fields and that each case comes with unique challenges. Dr. Jones is also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncture Therapist and completed the 3-module course through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute.

After working as an assistant professor for nearly 4 years at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona she joined the Summit Veterinary Referral Center in 2022. She is passionate about educating clients and other veterinarians about the rapidly developing area of pain management in veterinary medicine as well as continuing to lend her expertise in anesthetic management of patients in a private practice.
When not rising to the challenge of each new case, Dr. Jones loves hiking and kayaking outside or whipping up a delicious treat inside with her wonderful husband, two cats, and dog.
